Clean lines and superb design elements define the flawless aesthetic of this Dawesville charmer. A real labour of love for its owners, the end result shed light on their vision of a quality pool that exceeded both creative and practical expectations.
Measuring 7.5m by 4.4m, the pool’s majestic look and feel was heightened by the use of quality materials and features.
Describing the pool as “awesome”, Barrier Reef Pools Perth Director Brad Hilbert couldn’t speak highly enough of its innovative design and appearance.
“The pool was part of a major renovation and a long time in the planning process for the owners, who have lived at the property for over 15 years,” he told New Homes.
The charming alfresco area opens up outdoors to showcase the pool in all its visual glory. It’s here the owners are able to enjoy a drink or meal by the pool and then pop in for a casual dip – relaxed living in all its brilliance.
Travertine paving surrounds the pool area, while four convenient spa jets run along the seating area. A full-length mosaic tiled sunbed water feature adds an extra kick of ingenuity and appeal, while an in-ground blanket box ensures the pool blanket is kept safe, hidden and secure when not in use.
The crowning jewel to the pool arrives with its estuary-facing views of picturesque Dawesville. Perfect for endless hours whisked away among tranquil waters, the pool’s shallow end measures 1.1m, while its deepest end reaches 1.8m.
Two multi-colour LED electric lights to illuminate the pool at night. “The products used around the area were very well researched by the owners,” Mr Hilbert said. “The effort they went to has sure paid off.”

Pencil compacting is a ‘must do’ around all pools as it is the best way to fully consolidate the excavation area between natural ground and the pool. View our explanation video and you will see that it is just one of the many ways Barrier Reef Pools are superior to others.
Timber boxing is formed up around the pool from waters edge 350mm wide. Two rows of N-12 Bar (Reo Bar) are laid between the perimeter of the timber boxing and the pool shell connecting into the pool shell provisions.
Concrete is then poured around the pool approx. 350mm wide from waters edge x 150mm deep. The concrete is then screeded to approx 15mm – 20mm below the top edge of the fibreglass. This footing provides a solid foundation for your pool headers to be fixed to and therefore will not allow any movement in the paving. (Optional 250mm x 150mm is also available).
As stated to the left concrete is left 15-20mm below the fibreglass edge. This is required so we can use a thick layer of paving bond between the concrete and the paver. This 4 Step process enables us to provide a Lifetime paving guarantee against any bullnose paving becoming loose around the pool’s edge (the paving company must be accredited through Barrier Reef Pools WA Pty Ltd).
