Three Years Research Has Happy Ending
Since they had their house built in 2004 , Warren Grant and his wife, Karen Millen-Grant , have been busy adding to and improving the home. With the installation of a pool by Barrier Reef Pools, they are almost where they want to be and are happy:
“We spent three years researching and it came down to Barrier Reef Pools and one other company,” Mrs Millen-Grant said. One reason that the couple chose Barrier Reef was that the company uses concrete round its fibreglass pools and they felt this was important.
“We had no hassles, they were very professional and they left the place very clean and tidy,” Mrs Millen-Grant said.
The couple chose the 7.5m x 2.8m version of the Venetian and feel it sits perfectly outside their big alfresco area. The pool, which is two steps down from the alfresco area, has a mosaic-tiled water wall and jets at one end and this is illuminated by uplights. “It’s just lovely at night-time,” Mrs Millen-Grant said.
The family’s alfresco area is huge and has a spa, outdoor kitchen, big television and enough space to host the biggest party: Sun shades can open up or close out the pool area, depending on mood and the strength of the sun.
The garden area has small grassed area -“big enough for the children,” Mrs Millen-Grant said -and a trampoline. Behind the water wall of the pool is the big family garage and all the pool equipment is run from there, keeping noise to a minimum.
Now there is just one job to do before the couple will feel they have finished . “The vegie patch will become a gazebo,” Mrs Millen-Grant said.
Barrier Reef Pools’ use of concrete around the pool was a clincher for the family.
